What does «Opening Doors» mean to Markus Dubs?

Recently a strange but fascinating couple sat next to me on the train. The lady was eight months pregnant and interestingly enough, we started talking about the world, God and birth. A few stations later the man asked me, if we had known each other from before. As it happened, he had participated in a Newcomer Band Festival, a festival I had organized a few years back. As one of the jury members I had given him  positive feedback, which had encouraged him to start music studies. At that time he couldn’t decide whether he wanted to become a musician or a illustrator. The positive feedback I had given him at that time motivated him to follow music. Opening Doors means many things to many people. A word of encouragement, positive feedback or a push in the right direction may be that one thing that may Open Doors for others.
