TEDxZurich is part of the global TEDx program of self-organized events that bring people together in the spirit of ideas worth spreading and organizing events where TED Talk videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection.
Position Overview
TEDxZurich seeks an enthusiastic and tech-savvy Production Team Associate to join our team. This role is crucial in ensuring high-quality audio, video, livestreaming, and presentation technology for our events. This position offers an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about event production and technology, with a keen interest in bringing ideas that change everything to life.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Technical Planning and Execution: Assist in planning and executing audio, video, and livestreaming aspects of TEDxZurich events. Help set up and operate equipment, ensuring smooth technical operations throughout the events.
- Presentation Technology Management: Support speakers in optimizing their visual aids and presentations. Ensure seamless transitions between speakers and manage presentation technology during events.
- Livestream Coordination: Assist in setting up and managing livestreaming equipment and platforms to extend the reach of TEDxZurich events to online audiences.
- Troubleshooting: Quickly identify and resolve technical issues during events to maintain a high-quality experience for both in-person and online attendees.
- Post-Production Tasks: Contribute to post-event production work, including editing and archiving of event footage.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Strong interest and basic understanding of audio, video, livestreaming, and presentation technologies.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, volunteer-driven environment.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Hands-on experience with audio/video equipment, livestreaming platforms, or presentation software is a plus.
- Deeper technical understanding in one or more production areas (audio engineering, video production, livestreaming, or presentation technology) is highly valued.
- Previous involvement with TEDx or similar events is beneficial.
COMMITMENT
We are a team of volunteers and depend on the commitment of each one to make TEDxZurich a success every year. You are willing to invest time and commit to helping the team beyond your primary responsibilities.
Time Commitment: 1-10 hours per week flexible (flexibility to balance this volunteering role with “real” job, hours increase as we approach the date of the events and decrease soon after).
