Trail Blazers

As we stand at the beginning of a new decade, we are slowly emerging out of a global pandemic, we have witnessed natural disasters and have felt major civil rights movements. Overall, general uncertainty for the future remains. With all of this, it is easy to get entangled in a downward spiral of negative thoughts. But, let’s take a step back. Let’s realise and admire that we, as a global society, have actually accomplished so much in this time! Through widescale use of digital technology, we are more connected on a global scale than ever before, we have witnessed scientific leaps as the fastest vaccine development efforts in history unfolded and even the groundwork towards space exploration has firmly been set.

Of course, much remains to be done but we firmly believe that, together, we are up for the challenge and can meet these uncertainties head on! So, let’s use this new decade as a jump-off point and choose collaboration over adversary. Let us lead by example, come together and navigate towards a better tomorrow!

In particular, changing customer needs and scarce resources drive us to continuously find new and better solutions. Only a business model that optimally blends sustainability and customer needs will continue to be successful in the future.

Our founder, Gottlieb Duttweiler, was a business leader, politician, but above all a visionary. With pioneering ideas and great social commitment, he wrote Swiss economic history. This history obliges us: Today, we continue to play a pioneering role in sustainability issues and are committed to society every day through the Migros Kulturprozent.
