With its 70,000 followers, under which Kenny Schachter, Hauser & Wirth, Engadin Art Talks, and Zurich Art Weekend, Andy meets Warhol has been named best Instagram account for contemporary art by German magazine Monopol in 2017. The founder of «Andy meets Warhol» is Zurich-based Andy Hermann. With his blog and Instagram account he aims to foster the dialogue between art and the public and celebrates the cultural diversity of Switzerland.
Art allows everyone to engage
For him, there’s no such thing as “bad art”, as he says: “Understanding a piece of artwork is very subjective. It allows everyone to engage and form an opinion, a feeling or an emotion.”
His advice for someone who wants to pursue a career in the art world: “Don’t be intimidated. There’s not a right or wrong path to take. And art is free to everyone.”
Besides spreading his love for the arts online, his day job is working as a host at the McDonald’s at Zurich Bahnhofsplatz.
